Linda S. Bolon served the people of Columbiana County for six years as County Treasurer and for four years as State Representative in the 127th and 128th General Assemblies. She was recently elected to serve another four year term as the Columbiana County Treasurer.
Mrs. Bolon is a graduate of East Palestine High School where she was inducted into the East Palestine High School Hall of Fame. She is a graduate of Columbus University, where she majored in secretarial sciences and business administration. She attended Kent State University majoring in accounting and has received continuing education from the Ohio State University, the Ohio Auditor of State and the Ohio Treasurer of State. She is a former Certified Fraud Examiner with the National Association of Fraud Examiners and a former Certified Government Financial Manager with the Association of Government Accountants (AGA).
Her eight years of experience in private industry working for a private CPA firm and steel industry supplier proved helpful in applying strong business practices as she defined her career in public service. She served as Treasurer for East Palestine City Schools and Edison Local Schools, and also as Fiscal Officer for the Columbiana Public Library.
The call to statewide service led her to a 14 year career as an Auditor and Audit Manager for the Ohio Auditor of State. While there she gained governmental knowledge auditing counties, townships cities, villages, schools, libraries, hospitals and universities. She also conducted financial forecasts for schools facing fiscal emergency and then moved on to fraud auditing and investigations where she worked with law enforcement officials and the FBI, receiving commendations for her investigative work.
She was elected to two terms on East Palestine City Council. Bolon was then appointed to the position of Columbiana County Treasurer in 1999 where voters elected her to two additional terms. She was later elected to the position of State Representative where she completed two terms.
Former Representative Bolon served as a member of the Ohio House Leadership team as the Assistant Majority Whip. She was elected by the members of the House and was responsible for monitoring legislation and securing votes for legislation introduced on the floor.
While serving in the House, Mrs. Bolon was appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve as:

During the 128th General Assembly Representative Bolon was the primary sponsor of seven bills and a joint primary sponsor of House Bill 414 which provided the enabling language for the Constitutional Amendment establishing a Livestock Care Standards Board. She received the "Friend Of Farming" award from the Ohio Farm Bureau in 2008 and 2010 for her work and support of Ohio agricultural issues.
Mrs. Bolon was named “Legislator of the Year”, receiving awards from the Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities and the Ohio Alliance of Recovery Providers.
Tom and Linda Bolon have been married for 45 years and are lifelong residents of Columbiana County. They have two daughters and two granddaughters.
Mrs. Bolon serves on the boards or is a member of various community organizations. She is an associate member of the County Township Association and the Columbiana County Farm Bureau. She also represents the county as a member of the Ohio County Treasurer's Association.
